St Ives, Cornwall

We thought we'd jump back to our mini moon where we visited St Ives, Cornwall for the day! As you can see, the day was gorgeous - the perfect fit for a pasty, ice cream and a Willway Walk!

We've both been here before separately, so it was so nice to bring back those memories together, it was like discover something you knew, but still seeing parts for the first time. This is the route we took (the starting point is a great car park - just make sure you're there early for a space!)

We stopped off by the harbour for a proper Cornish pasty and a cool drink before we set off around the coast. This walk was truly incredible because the views were second to none, the beaches were clean and soft and the water was clear. The sound of the waves smashing the rocks was something we could hear for a long time after.

We chose to walk in walking boots, however they are not needed for this walk. You would need some comfortably shoes (especially for the hill back up to the carpark) but we think you could have done this in good supporting sandals. It took us just over an hour on the way there, and we chose to lie on the beach for a couple of hours and paddle in the sea. We were absolutely gutted we didn't have any beach stuff with us (the weather wasn't meant to be this good hence the jumper!) as we just wanted to body board like the rest of the beach goers. We set off to walk to the highest point again to have a look over the bay then stopped off for a lovely refreshing wine and beer - we had earned it by that point - before heading back.

We would really recommend this walk, but if you are like this and love the beach, maybe cut the walk short a bit and pack your things. If we went back to do it again, we'd definitely take our body boards with us!
