Berry Head, Brixham

We chose this walk when we were in Devon after we had decided that this was the place that we were going to get married! We keep falling in love with the area, and this is a walk that we both really loved. At first it takes you around the town and houses, so there's not too much to see at first -but this part doesn't last too long. As always, here's the route we took. Think we combined some routes, but the South West Coast Path website always comes in handy for a coastal path, it keeps you up to date with any closures/diversions.

Once we got on the path, there were parts that were muddy (that's the fun of it, right?) but the views were AMAZING. On a clear day, you can get a great view of the water and surrounding land. As you move close to the finish, you can get to see the entire bay.

We stopped off for lunch at the Berry Head Hotel which was near the end of the walk. We decided the route of the walk based on the fact we wanted to eat here and it didn't disappoint.

The walk took us about 5 ish hours, but this included stops to take in views, to snap some photos and the relaxed meal afterwards. We'd say it's about a medium level walk because of it's length. It was relativley easy underfoot, but because it's the coast path, we'd still recommend walking boots. There are some hills/steps/walkways that seem to go on forever, but if you take them slow they are quite okay.

We parked in the car park in Brixham town centre and started our walk from there. We can't remember the price of the top of our head, but it was decent enough to have a full day out with these spectacular views.

Berry Head in particular will always be a special place to us, as it's where we became husband and wife. Whether it's because it's beautiful, or because of the sentimental value - or a mixture of the two, this is a walk we would definitely do again!
